Prep Time: 15 minutes  •  Cook Time: 15 minutes  •  Serves: 6

Ingredients

1 lb. green beans or haricot verts, trimmed

2/3 cup Old Home Foods French Onion dip

¼ cup vegetable broth (any stock/broth works)

3 Tbsp butter or olive oil

¼ cup sliced almonds, toasted

1 shallot, thinly sliced into rings

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, plus zest of 1 lemon

Kosher salt and black pepper

Directions

Bring a medium saucepan of water to a boil (about 2/3 full), and add a generous pinch of kosher salt.

Add in green beans and boil until crisp-tender, about 2-3 minutes.

Prepare a large bowl of ice water.

Drain the green beans and immediately add them to the ice water to stop the cooking.

Drain again, and lay on paper towel, and pat dry.

In a small skillet over med-low heat, whisk to combine the French Onion Dip and broth.

Add a bit of black pepper. Warm through for 1-2 minutes and set aside.

In a medium skillet add butter or olive oil over medium heat. Stir in shallots, and cook until lightly browned, about 2 minutes.

Stir in garlic and most of the almonds (saving some for garnish).

Stir in lemon juice and add in the green beans. Toss and warm through, 1-2 minutes.

Transfer to a serving dish, and spoon the French Onion sauce over the top. Garnish with lemon zest and toasted almonds.

Serve immediately.
